Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We understand. Sometimes things happen that are beyond our control and sometimes travel plans need to be changed.

Rescheduling

Single Day Experience:

You may reschedule your experience up to 5 days prior to the confirmed date of the experience without incurring penalty.


Multi-Day Experience:

As accommodation and transport will be arranged ahead of time, rescheduling is likely not possible. Nevertheless, in the event of extenuating circumstances, please send your request via email to reservation@straitsjourneys.com with your confirmation number, reason for rescheduling and a proposed date. StraitsJourneys will work with the expert to reschedule. However, StraitsJourneys reserves the right to review and make the final decision on rescheduling.

Refunds

  • Any experience cancellation that is submitted 30 days or more before the start date, is eligible for a refund of up to 90% of payment made.
  • Cancellations less than 30 days before the start date will not be eligible for a refund, but you may reschedule it up to 5 days prior to start of experience.
  • There are some experiences that require special booking requirements and have unique cancellation policies. These are determined by the experts, and StraitsJourneys will refer to the experts’ policies. These are clearly stated (under "Notes") on the experience description page and in the confirmation email.  This is to make it fair to the expert, who will have to make extensive preparations for the experience.

How to Cancel or Reschedule

All cancellation requests must be made directly to StraitsJourneys and not with the expert or other service providers. Requests must be indicated on your account on the website and by emailing reservation@straitsjourneys.com.

Variations or Cancellation by Expert

Our experts and experience providers will make every effort to conduct the experience as planned. However, to ensure the safety of all participants, the experience providers have discretion to vary the itinerary, including postponing and cancelling the experience due to any unforeseen circumstances.  If the expert cancels the experience due to weather or safety concerns, StraitsJourneys will work with you and the expert to reschedule the experience or in some cases, provide an appropriate refund.


Experience providers also reserve the right to cancel the experience 5 days prior to departure if the minimum number of participants for the group experience is not met.  Participants will be notified via email and a full refund will be made.

Medical Conditions and Pregnancy

Please consult with your doctor if you are planning to travel while pregnant or with a medical condition that may require assistance. StraitsJourneys, the expert and/or the local guide are unable to provide any medical services or emergency treatment. You are liable for any risks and consequences incurred during travel. We highly recommend that you purchase travel and medical insurance.
